It’s what we dig, and our newest beer wouldn’t have been possible without it. Presenting: Farmer Dale’s Pumpkin Stout! This creamy, full-bodied, slightly sweet milk stout features notes of clove, allspice, ginger, and nutmeg, all balanced to pumpkiny perfection.
A Trip to the Patch, and Down Memory Lane
Marc and Mitch have fond memories of visiting the Sherman Pumpkin Patch (as far back as the 80s!), and as long-time fans, it was an unforgettable experience collaborating with Farmer Dale on this brew. Dale knows you gotta have pumpkins to make pumpkin stout and so he hooked us up with over 300 pounds of Sherman’s Pioneer Farms best.
Loaded to the gills with pumpkins, our next task was to smash them to pieces. Much to the dismay of many a teenaged troublemaker, we instead recruited a few Penn Cove Beer Club members to do the deed. The Last “Pizza” the Puzzle
Who has enough oven space to roast 300 pounds of pumpkins?
As luck would have it, our good friends and neighbors at The Pizza Factory, who generously let us take over part of their kitchen space for our pre-brew pumpkin roast. And with that, it was a short journey across the parking lot to our brewery, so away we went!
